Join us for a very special painting class where we will delve into the world of guided abstract art. Based on the original painting called Original Love by Smita Urunkar, we will create a beautiful, meaningful painting in your choice of colors and words while we talk about the Love & Grace that God gives us and how we share that with others.

The Bird.
Explore color layering while we talk about the gifts that God gives us that make us unlike anyone else.
Relax
(painters can choose from a golf course or flower meadow in the foreground)

What do you do to relax? Do you make the time for self care? God wants us to slow down and take the time to care for ourselves. Spend 3 hours with us while we relax and learn how to paint cliffs.
In the Rain
June 25th 2pm-5pm @ Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, South Tampa
Sometimes our life feels like there is lots of rain. Paul said it best when he told us to be anxious for nothing. God works for the good in all things. Let this painting be a reminder of that good.
We will also explore the use of underpainting.

Pelican... love beyond measure
July 24, 2pm-5pm @ Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, South Tampa
The pelican has been long known for it's attentiveness to it's young. So much so, the pelican will pluck blood from it's own breast to feed it's young. This painting will be a great reminder of the love of our God h us. We will also learn the secrets to clouds, and horizon lines.

They say when a door closes a window opens. Are you facing change in life? God will never remove something from your life, unless he has something better to put in it. This class will focus on looking forward with anticipation rather than trepidation. We will also focus on color layering and the 'easy way' to create bushes and flowers.

I had the fun experiences to paint with my talented, patient leader Lori Dowe. I couldn't believe that I could paint a lovely picture of the three Wisemen as a gift for my autistic son . Over the years I have had the privilege of taking art classes from Lori Dowe. I am a person who has never done much painting, but because of Lori's expertise and special techniques, I have several of my paintings in my house that I'm really proud of. Lori not only shows you step by step how to paint, but she makes it so much fun! The one thing that she insists on is that you should follow the instructions, but at the same time "make it your own". She has a talent of mixing colors and I have learned a lot. She expresses that it's ok to make something orange instead of yellow. Or your tree can be an autumn tree instead of just plain green. When her class is done, it is amazing how everyone can paint the same picture and still have it is so personal to them (and they love it). Lori will spend time with everyone one on one and show them how to correct their mistakes also. She is such a unique instructor. It is a joy to work with her.
